Just lift the presser foot and lower the cutter, and put a cloth or a piece of paper under the presser foot. Then put down the presser foot, and you can change the needle safely. This technique ensures that the needle will not fall into the complex curved needle area.

Finally, remember to put the cutter back in place.

Skill #2

Similar to technique #1, this technique is another solution to help you change needles quickly. This technique is particularly useful when only one needle is replaced.

Using this technique to change the needle, there is no need to cut the thread first, so that when changing the needle, the changed needle will hang on the line instead of falling.

First, lower the cutter, put down the presser foot, loosen the screw that needs to change the needle, let the needle hang on the line, cut the thread, replace the machine needle, tighten the screw, lift the blade, and the needle change is completed.

Skill #3

One of the best functions of the overlock sewing machine is to add a thicker decorative line to the edge of your work. The line shown below is YLI Pearl Crown Rayon. It is widely used, and the upper and lower bending needles can be used.

Pearl crown rayon is a continuous filament fiber with little fuzzing, colorfastness, and washability. To get the best results with this wire, you need the help of two artifacts: wire mesh and wire wheel cover. Go to the accessories of the machine. Generally, they are standard accessories of the overlock machine. If not, you can consult your dealer.

If the wired network is too long, it can be trimmed. Generally, the length is about twice the height of the used wire coil. Slide one end of the wire meshes up into the center hole of the coil. Then wrap the remaining wire mesh outside the coil from bottom to top. Put the wire coil with the wire mesh into the wire wheel rod, and then install the wire wheel cover to thread

The advantage of placing half of the wire mesh in the center hole of the wire coil is that since the lower part of the wire coil is completely wrapped by the wire mesh, the wire will not run out from the lower part of the wire coil, which helps to prevent wire jamming and disconnection.

The overlock sewing machine needs to cut the cloth, which will produce a lot of debris, which makes it difficult for the overlock sewing machine to keep clean all the time. This technique will help you keep the overlying area and the machine clean and tidy.
