How Does The Flexible Configuration Of Sewing Equipment Affect Garment Technology?

More consumers tend to live a sports and leisure lifestyle. For clothing, sports, and leisure fabrics have more functionalities, such as anti-wrinkle, light and thin warmth, easy care, waterproof and antibacterial, sweat-absorbing and quick-drying, anti-ultraviolet, and other composite properties. In addition to the innovation of materials, clothing fabrics also need innovations in fabric structure, such as acrylic coatings, polyurethane coatings, fleece-proof coatings, pearlescent coatings, and flame-retardant coatings for coated fabrics.

In order to solve the variability in the structure and tailoring of sports and leisure clothing, the mechanical properties of the fabric, and the special process (hot pressing), can be realized by configuring flexible production equipment.

The flexible equipment configuration is composed of a transmission system connected in series with 2 to 3 sewing equipment and pressing equipment. The transmission device places the cut pieces on the carrier and transmits them to each processing equipment in turn to realize accurate and rapid processing of cut pieces and pressing equipment. 

The flexible equipment configuration consists of actuators (servo motors), control systems (PLC), perception systems (sensors), and robots (bionic mechanical structures).

Industrial robots replace workers in handling, mold changing, alignment, sewing, pressing, loading and unloading, and other processes. The flexible manufacturing cell (FMC) can realize the distributed control system at the equipment level, station level, and unit level. Through the flexible configuration of equipment, the expansion flexibility and operational flexibility of the processing unit can be realized to meet the needs of different processing technologies and make the production process more simplified, with less equipment investment, higher equipment use efficiency, higher site utilization, and shorter production cycles.
