Tip 1 

The overlock machine has more needles, more threads, and various moving parts that need to be threaded than the sewing machine, which often makes changing the needle very stressful and worries about accidentally dropping the needle into the sewing machine! Use this simple technique to effectively avoid similar situations and make needle changing easier.

Simply raise the foot press and lower the cutter and place a cloth or paper under the foot press. Then put down the pressure foot and you can safely change the needle. This technique ensures that the needle does not fall into the bending area of the complex structure;

Finally, remember to put the cutter back in place.

Tip 2 

Like Tip # 1, this technique is another solution that will help you change needles quickly. This technique works especially well when replacing only one needle.

Use this technique to change the needle without first cutting the thread so that when changing the needle, it will hang on the line instead of falling off.

First, lower the cutter, lower the pressure foot, loosen the screw that needs to change the needle, let the needle hang on the line, cut the line, replace the machine needle, tighten the screw, lift the blade, and the needle will be changed.

Tip 3 

One of the best features of the Overlock Sewing Machine is the ability to add a thicker decorative line to the edge of your work. The lines shown below are YLI Pearl Crown Rayon. It is versatile and can be used with both upper and lower bending pins of the sewing machine.

Pearl crown rayon is a continuous filament fiber, which is almost lint-free, colorfast, and washable. To get the best results with this line, you need the help of two artifacts: wire mesh and wire wheel cover. Go to the accessories of the machine. Generally, they are standard accessories of the overlock sewing machine. If not, you can consult your dealer.

If the wired network is too long, it can be trimmed. Generally, the length is about twice the height of the used wire coil. Slide one end of the wire meshes upward into the center hole of the coil.then wrap the remaining wire mesh outside the coil from bottom to top. Put the wire coil with the wire mesh into the wire wheel rod, and then install the wire wheel cover to thread.

The advantage of placing half of the wire mesh in the center hole of the wire coil is that since the lower part of the wire coil is completely wrapped by the wire mesh, the wire will not run out from the lower part of the wire coil, which helps to prevent wire jamming and disconnection.

Tip 4 

The overlock sewing machine needs to cut the cloth, which will produce a lot of debris, which makes it difficult for the overlock sewing machine to keep clean all the time. This technique will help you keep the overlying area and the machine clean and tidy.

You only need to use a flannelette to clean up the debris. The fibers of the cloth will stick to the flannelette instead of the machine. This technique is applicable to all machines. Go and have a try.
