CISMA2023: What Do Domestic and International Professional Visitors Think?

Among the tens of thousands of professional visitors to CISMA2023, the feelings and needs of professionals from apparel media, equipment user factories overseas dealers, etc. are of great concern to equipment manufacturers. Their comments and suggestions on the equipment is an important basis for manufacturers to improve and innovate technology and products.

In order to understand the feelings of professional visitors from all aspects of the exhibition, during the exhibition, the National Sewing Equipment Industry Information Center did in-depth interviews and research.

As Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Garment Industry Association (SGIA) and Editor-in-Chief of SGIA's magazine "Garment Monthly", Ms. Liu Peifang has always been committed to digging out cutting-edge fashion information. Since graduating from Shanghai University, she has joined China's first industry newspaper, Shanghai Fashion News, and has been working on the front line of the apparel industry, always insisting on the ideal journalism work from the perspective of a media person in the apparel industry.

She has visited almost every session of CISMA during her more than 30 years in the industry. She said that as a media that provides services to garment factories, she can't just focus on the garment sector, but also has the cognizance of linking upstream and downstream. Although there are fewer and fewer sewing equipment manufacturers in Shanghai, as designers and developers in garment factories, if they cannot keep abreast of the product development and innovation of sewing equipment manufacturers, their designs will be limited, so visiting the exhibition is the best way to break this information gap.

She believes that Shanghai's garments are starting to be customized and that garment development, design services, and even manual work are needed, so there is a need to know in a timely and clear manner what sewing equipment is capable of sewing nowadays.

Another feeling she had was that foreign customers at CISMA are those who have the will to place an order and will do so. Although garment factories are moving to Southeast Asia and the Middle East, the research, development, and production of sewing equipment is still at home, and the demand for sewing equipment from foreign users is still very high.

How did the foreign professional visitors feel about the show? What are their favorite brands and products at the show? What did they gain? With these questions, the National Sewing Equipment Industry Information Center interviewed Mr. Jeffreson, the owner of Para coser S.a, a sewing equipment agent from Medellín, Colombia, at the exhibition site.

When we asked him what makes CISMA different from other international sewing equipment shows, Jefferson, who was attending CISMA for the first time, blurted out that CISMA is too big and too impressive! He said that he had only participated in the domestic sewing equipment exhibition in Colombia before, which was relatively small in scale, and the exhibits were basically only the regular varieties such as flat-bag bandages and lockstitch covers.

In addition to the huge scale, many exhibitors, and rich exhibits, CISMA2023 also left Jefferson a deep impression with its high-end atmosphere and distinctive booths.

Participating in CISMA for the first time made Jefferson gain a lot and have a lot of feelings. He said that this exhibition allowed him to see the world's sewing machine industry, broaden his professional horizons, and make a lot of friends, all of which will benefit him in the future to run and develop a good sewing equipment distribution business.
